Koori Gala Day is coming to Port Stephens Netball Association

Koori Gala Days are a family friendly day to celebrate Indigenous culture within our sport.

The day includes a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony.

The netball side of things is similar to a carnival, where teams play against each other in their designated divisions and provide their own umpire.

Divisions:

  • 10-12 Years Mixed/Girls

  • 13-15 Years Mixed/Girls

  • Opens Mixed/Female

Mixed and Female teams play against each other unless team numbers allow separate pools and teams may include up to 3 non-Indigenous players, coaches and umpires do not have to be Indigenous

Cost: $40 per team (no cost to register per individual participant)

How to Register:

Register teams via the QR code on flyers or via the following link https://www.playhq.com/netball-australia/register/9910ef

 An opportunity exists for participants at Koori Gala Days to receive an invite to the Netball NSW First Nations Talent Camp in November for:

  • Indigenous Players turning 12-14;

  • Indigenous Coaches; and

  • Indigenous Umpires.

The Koori Gala Days can also be used as a lead up by teams planning to enter the Koori Netball Tournament in October at Charlestown, similar to Rep Carnivals before State Titles or simply family and friends coming together to have fun playing netball for the day.
